Toronto rapper GRABBZ is continuing his independent run with another appearance on the Canadian iTunes charts.
His latest single, “Lighta Lighta” featuring DJ Oshawn, reached No. 11 on the Canadian iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart, adding another charting release to a catalog that has now generated more than one million streams across platforms.
The achievement comes after “I Do This” reached No. 12 on the Canadian iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart, while “Toonies Loonies” previously climbed to No. 5 on the Canadian iTunes chart.
For GRABBZ, the consistency matters.
Rather than having his career defined by one breakout record, the Scarborough artist has been gradually building an audience through a series of independent releases. Each new chart appearance gives him another measurable sign that the music is reaching beyond his existing fan base.
“Lighta Lighta” brings GRABBZ together with DJ Oshawn for a record driven by confidence, energy and a hook designed to stick.
The concept begins with something simple: asking someone for a light. From there, the phrase takes on a bigger meaning, with the idea of a flame representing the energy someone brings into a room.
