There’s a different vibe coming out of Richmond right now, and a lot of people are pointing to Loah Semi as the reason. Without a major label behind him or any industry machine pushing the rollout, he’s built real momentum off consistency, talent, and a song that already feels bigger than just another local release.

That song is “Coming 2 Virginia.”

It hasn’t even officially dropped yet, but it’s already moving through the city like it has. From barbershops and college campuses to car speakers and social media clips, the record has spread fast, with fans calling it a true Virginia anthem before the full release is even out. The excitement around it feels genuine—the kind you can’t fake or force.

A big part of that momentum has come from Loah Semi’s recent media run, which he’s handled completely independently, without a publicist. Even so, he’s been making appearances on platforms that matter in the culture, including TappedInReactions, SpadeTvOfficial, Judge Sole, The Cut App, and Flight To Fame U with Ray Daniels. And every time he shows up, he leaves an impression.

During his appearance on Flight To Fame U, Ray Daniels called “Coming 2 Virginia” a hit less than 30 seconds into hearing it. For an independent artist still building his name, that kind of reaction says a lot.

Still, this moment didn’t happen overnight.

Loah Semi first started making noise in Virginia’s hip-hop scene about five years ago with the release of his Written N Stone EP. From the beginning, he stood out as an artist who didn’t want to be boxed into one sound. While hip-hop is at the core of his music, his influences stretch into rock, R&B, and pop, giving his style a versatility that feels natural instead of forced.

As Loah has said before, “I’m a music fan first,” and that mindset comes through in everything he creates.
